Hu Tieu
Pronounced: 'Hoo-Teeu'
Specialty of: Saigon
English Description: Hu Tieu is one of the most popular dishes in Southern Vietnam, specifically Saigon. It is also served 'dry' and is a favorite breakfast food. It consists of meaty pork bones in a flavorful light pork broth, served with rice noodles. It can also be served without broth, or 'dry' with a side of broth.
It can also be found in Hanoi if you look hard enough.

Banh Xeo
Pronounced: 'Baing Sayo'
English Description: Banh Xeo is sometimes described as a Vietnamese Omelet. Although is can look somewhat similar on a plate at first glance, that is a very poor comparison. It is neither made of eggs, or taste of an omelet. etc...

Com Tam
Pronounced: 'Comm-Tam'
Specialty of: Saigon
English Description: The literal translation of Com Tam is broken rice. Considered poor farmer food back in the day, it has turned into a popular staple in Southern Vietnam, but can be found in across the country, even in Hanoi.

Bun Bo Hue
Pronounced: Boon-Bo-Huay
Specialty of: Hue
English Description: This soup originated in the province of Hue which sits in the middle of Vietnam and was the capital city of the country for hundreds of years. The soup has a beef broth and is tradiotnally served with shrimp, blood cake, etc...
