Dietary Requirements & Tour Recommendations
We do our best to accommodate most dietary preferences and restrictions, but some tours are naturally better suited to certain diets than others.
Vegetarian Diets
We strongly recommend our Afternoon Group Tour, which offers a wider variety of vegetarian options throughout the experience.
Vegan Diets
While we can often accommodate vegan guests, the experience may be more limited than for vegetarians. Many traditional Northern Vietnamese dishes contain fish sauce, shrimp paste, eggs, or other animal-based ingredients. We recommend contacting us before booking so we can advise whether a group tour or a Private Food Tour would be the better fit.
Guests Who Don't Eat Pork
We strongly recommend our Afternoon Group Tour, which offers a wider variety of proteins than our Morning Group Tour.
Other Dietary Requirements
Whether you avoid beef, seafood, shellfish, gluten, or other ingredients, please let us know before booking. We'll always do our best to recommend the tour that's best suited to your dietary needs.
Food Allergies
Please let us know before booking. We'll always do our best to accommodate dietary requirements whenever possible. However, many small local eateries are not set up to prepare food according to strict allergy protocols, and cross-contamination can occur during food preparation.
Severe Allergies or Multiple Dietary Restrictions
If you have a severe food allergy or multiple dietary restrictions, we generally recommend booking a Private Food Tour. This allows us to customize the menu, communicate your requirements more effectively, and provide the safest and most suitable experience possible.
Seafood & Strange Food
Hanoi isn't a coastal city, so seafood plays a much smaller role in the local cuisine than many visitors expect. Our group tours focus on classic Northern Vietnamese specialties and the dishes that locals eat every day. If you're specifically looking to try more adventurous dishes or specific regional specialties, we recommend booking a Private Food Tour.
